Crime Victim Representation
Under Arizona’s Victims’ Bill of Rights (Article 2, Section 2.1 of the Arizona Constitution), victims of crime and their next of kin have rights to justice and due process, including the right to be treated with fairness, respect, and dignity in every criminal justice proceeding. Defenders of Children provides direct representation as victim’s counsel as well as other advocacy and support to victims of crime and (when the victim is a minor child) their protective parents or guardians in criminal cases to ensure that they are able to understand and exercise their rights.
